Pelvic Floor Therapy

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a specialized area of physical therapy that focuses on the muscles, tissues, ligaments, and nerves in the pelvic region. Even though the muscles here are small, they have big responsibilities! They help control your bladder and bowels, support your pelvic organs, and play a role in sexual function and the stability of your lower back and pelvis.

Our pelvic health physiotherapists have advanced training to assess and treat various pelvic health conditions. They use the latest research and tailor their care to meet your specific needs.

What Conditions Can Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Help With?

Here are some of the conditions our therapists can treat:

- Vaginismus: Involuntary tightening of the vaginal muscles, making intercourse or gynecological exams painful.

- Endometriosis: A condition where tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside of it, causing pain.

- Interstitial Cystitis & Bladder Pain Syndrome: Persistent bladder pain and frequent urination without infection.

- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): A digestive disorder causing abdominal pain, bloating, and changes in bowel habits.

- Coccydynia: Pain in the tailbone area.
